Protecting Social Security and Medicare

I believe in the power of a person’s word. For generations, South Carolinians have worked hard and paid into Social Security and Medicare with the understanding that those benefits would be there when they needed them.

In Congress, I will treat these programs as a sacred trust. I will oppose any cuts to the benefits our seniors and disabled neighbors rely on. We don’t have a Social Security problem; we have a Washington spending problem. I will fight to stop career politicians from using these funds as a piggy bank for their pet projects. Our elderly and disabled citizens deserve the security and dignity they earned.
